GAC Establishment

How did we get approved?

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Governments agreed to establish the Gulf Accreditation Center to provide dependable services to destinations for conformity evaluation of laboratories, sites of inspection, and certifying bodies in all Member States.

The center was provided following a research conducted by the Organization of JAS-ANZ and provided by the Australian National Aerospace Agency (NATA).

recognitions

We're recognized at international and regional level

In June 2016, we were able to receive international recognition from international and
regional
organizations.

Internationally, we’re recognized by, the International Laboratory Accreditation
Co-operation
(ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF), and The International Halal
Accreditation Forum (IHAF).

These organisations determine the nature of the accreditation that GAC and its
equivalent bodies
in other countries offer.

GAC is also active at the regional level and is member of both the Arab Accreditation
Cooperation (ARAC) and the Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC).

GAC accreditation serves as an international trade passport. GAC has signed the ARAC
MLA, APAC MRA, and IHAF recognition agreements. This means that the signatories to these
agreements recognize GAC-accredited test reports or certificates.

GAC is a signatory to the following scopes:

Testing laboratories, Calibration Laboratories, and Inspection Bodies, Medical
Laboratories Product Certification bodies, Halal Certification.

Please check GAC recognition status on ILAC and IAF websites
